New to wikis in general? Welcome!

Odds are good you may have found yourself on Wikipedia before. It's like an encyclopedia, but one that's constantly growing because users are constantly adding new information into it. Wikipedia runs on open-source software called "Mediawiki". And we're using the same software.

If you want to understand a bit more about wikis, we recommend the free EBook Working With Mediawiki as a great resource.

Specifically, the chapters: 1, 4, 5, 6, 7, 11 may be interesting to you. Those chapters start with simple topics like the history of MediaWiki, and move towards increasingly advanced topics that you might find interesting. Some of the other chapters might not be as useful for complicit.wiki contributors, since they are targeted towards people who are actually running and hosting the mediawiki software (like the people who maintain complicit.wiki).
